The principle of 'the best interests of the child', which is a comprehensive and unique principle of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and frequently referred to by national and international courts, provides protection to all children and even a stronger protection to the children who were subjected to deportation proceedings. The aim of the study is to explain the content of the best interests the child principle, and based on which standarts and how the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child apply this principle, especially in regard to the children who are subjected to deportation proceedings. For this end, first, the material and procedural standards which ensure the fullfilment of the principle of the best interests the child principle for children who are subjected to deportation proceedings will be discussed theoretically within the meaning of children rights. Then, how procedural standards are handled in Comittee on the Rights of Child will be examined.
